Job Description
About the role:
The role supports the effective discharge of fiduciary trustee obligations by executing trustee processes accurately, maintaining high-quality records and controls, and identifying matters requiring escalation to senior trustee, legal, risk or compliance stakeholders.
The Trustee Services Manager works closely with internal operations, registry and accounting teams to ensure trustee actions are completed in accordance with trust deeds, client instructions, fiduciary duties and Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) requirements. The role is hands-on and operational, with a strong focus on process discipline, risk awareness and continuous improvement, and is suited to a developing trustee professional seeking to build deeper trusteeship experience under senior guidance.
The role operates in a highly regulated financial services environment, with high expectations of precision, judgement, compliance and record keeping. Work is deadline-driven and subject to audit, regulatory and client scrutiny.
Key responsibilities include
Act as operational lead for trustee services, primarily ESP and bare trust arrangements.
Ensure trustee actions align with fiduciary duties, trust law, trust deeds and governing rules
Interpret trust deeds, plan rules and legal documentation.
Validate client instructions for authority, accuracy and compliance prior to execution.
Oversee day-to-day trustee activities including asset movements, allocations, releases, distributions and corporate actions.
Maintain complete and accurate records.
Ensure trustee activities comply with AFSL, ATO and internal policy obligations.
Support compliance monitoring, reporting, breach assessment, regulatory reviews and audits
Act as trustee subject-matter expert for internal teams and external stakeholders. Provide clear guidance on trustee obligations and limits and operations
Desired Skills and Experience
About you!
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone to bring:
Accounting or legal qualification strongly preferred.
Experience in trustee services, employee share plans, legal trust administration or regulated financial services operations.
Sound judgement, Risk awareness and structured problem solving approach
Confidence articulating trustee limitations and risk positions.
Ability to balance fiduciary integrity with commercial pragmatism.
Comfort working within technology-enabled operational environments.
