Job Description

About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join Automic Group’s Risk and Compliance function and support the continued evolution of the organisation’s compliance framework as the business grows. 

Operating as part of the Line 2 risk function, this role provides independent oversight and practical guidance to ensure the organisation effectively identifies, manages and monitors its regulatory obligations. The position plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing Automic’s Compliance Management System, supporting regulatory change management, compliance monitoring and breach management across the business. 

Reporting to the Head of Compliance and senior stakeholders, you will help embed strong governance, clear accountability and a proactive compliance culture across the organisation. Role Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain and continuously improve the organisation’s Compliance Management System, aligned with best practice frameworks including ISO 37301 

  • Maintain the regulatory obligations register, ensuring obligations are mapped to accountable owners, risks and controls 

  • Monitor regulatory developments and perform horizon scanning for emerging obligations across financial services, AML/CTF and privacy 

  • Assess and coordinate the implementation of regulatory change, including business impact assessments and implementation tracking 

  • Design and deliver a risk-based compliance monitoring and assurance program 

  • Analyse monitoring results, incidents and trends to identify emerging compliance risks and improvement opportunities 

  • Support the identification, assessment and escalation of compliance incidents and breaches, including regulatory reporting where required 

  • Prepare clear and concise compliance reporting for management, committees and governance forums 

  • Provide practical compliance advice and constructive challenge to business stakeholders on key initiatives and operational matters 

  • Support the delivery of compliance training and awareness programs to strengthen regulatory understanding across the organisation 

  • Identify opportunities to enhance compliance processes through technology, automation and data-driven insights 

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills and Experience 

  • Degree in Law, Risk, Compliance, Finance or a related discipline 

  • Professional compliance or risk qualifications (e.g. ICA or similar) highly regarded 

  • Strong understanding of financial services regulatory frameworks, including AFSL obligations 

  • Experience supporting AML/CTF and privacy compliance frameworks 

  • Proven experience developing or operating compliance monitoring and assurance programs 

  • Experience managing regulatory change and obligations registers 

  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business actions 

  • Strong written communication skills, including experience preparing committee or board-level reporting 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and compliance reporting tools 

  • Experience with GRC platforms, workflow tools or systems such as Jira highly regarded 

  • Exposure to data analytics, automation or technology-enabled compliance solutions is advantageous
