Job Description

About the Role 

We’re looking for a technically strong and detail-oriented Senior Fund Accountant to join Automic’s growing Fund Services team. 

In this role, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end fund accounting deliverables, including NAV preparation, financial reporting, and tax requirements, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. You’ll work closely with fund managers, custodians, and auditors, acting as a key point of contact and trusted advisor.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and review NAV calculations, investor statements, and performance reports  

  • Prepare statutory financial statements and support audit processes  

  • Reconcile investment transactions and ensure accurate recording of fund activity  

  • Post journals and maintain accurate accounting records  

  • Prepare and review tax distribution calculations  

  • Lodge BAS and assist with income tax return preparation  

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements  

  • Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors  

  • Act as a key contact for fund managers, trustees, custodians, and auditors  

  • Respond to client queries and provide insights into fund performance  

  • Support onboarding of new clients and fund launches  

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce manual effort  

  • Support automation and workflow enhancements across fund accounting  

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills and Experience 

  • CA/CPA qualified (or working towards)  

  • 5+ years’ experience in fund accounting  

  • End-to-end experience across NAV preparation, tax, and financial statements  

  • Strong understanding of diverse asset classes (e.g. equities, fixed income, private markets)  

  • Experience with complex fund structures (multi-entity, multi-currency, MITs, feeder/master)  

  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting systems (e.g. FIS / Investran)  

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills  

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy  

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills  

  • Experience with process improvement, automation, or workflow design  

  • Exposure to operational risk, controls, and audit processes
