Job Description
About the Role
We’re looking for a technically strong and detail-oriented finance professional to join our team and play a key role in financial reporting, audit, and finance transformation initiatives. This is a 9-month fixed term contract role. This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact role where you’ll work across core reporting, complex accounting matters, and automation projects—helping shape a more efficient, scalable finance function.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of key financial reporting processes while contributing to automation and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy across month-end and year-end deliverables, while also supporting technical accounting matters and strategic finance projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Close
Support year-end close processes and statutory reporting
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements
Support audit processes and deliverables
Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)
Automation & Process Improvement
Support finance automation initiatives across reporting and reconciliations
Assist with system enhancements, implementation, and testing
Identify and drive opportunities to streamline manual processes
Improve data integrity and reporting efficiency
Technical Accounting
Support purchase price allocation (PPA) analysis and documentation
Assist with non-routine and complex accounting transactions
Prepare technical accounting papers
Liaise with external auditors and advisors as required
What You’ll Bring:
CA, CPA (or equivalent) qualification
5+ years’ experience in financial reporting
Strong experience with year-end processes and external audits
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
Experience with ERP systems (ideally NetSuite)
Highly regarded:
Big 4 background
Experience with finance transformation or automation initiatives
Exposure to purchase price accounting (PPA)
Involvement in system implementations
Technology sector experience
