About the Role
As Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, compliance, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of listed and unlisted clients. You’ll work closely with senior finance leaders and clients to ensure accurate reporting, strong governance outcomes, and practical commercial support.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys solving technical accounting challenges, and wants exposure to dynamic ASX environments, capital markets activity, and strategic client advisory work.
What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Prepare month-end reporting including balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis, and cash flow reporting
Assist with statutory financial statements in line with IFRS and AASB requirements
Support ASX reporting obligations including 4C/5B, 4D, and 4E reporting
Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory and statutory requirements
Tax & Regulatory Obligations
Prepare BAS, payroll tax, and FBT lodgements
Maintain accurate tax documentation and supporting records
Liaise with external advisors and regulatory bodies as required
Client & Audit Management
Act as a trusted point of contact for clients and external auditors
Coordinate audit processes and manage deliverables to tight deadlines
Build strong, professional client relationships through responsive service and commercial insight
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
Support accounting system implementations, upgrades, and testing initiatives
Contribute to continuous improvement across the finance practice
Desired Skills and Experience
About You You’re a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional with strong technical capability and a passion for delivering exceptional client outcomes.
You’ll Bring
CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent)
Strong technical accounting knowledge across IFRS and AASB standards
Experience supporting ASX-listed clients or public company reporting environments
Advanced Excel skills and experience using Xero
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills
Highly Regarded
Experience gained within a Big 4 audit environment
Exposure to IPOs, capital raisings, or corporate actions
Systems implementation or process improvement exposure
